He currently serves as a senior corporate strategy and communications executive for a leading service provider. He has previously he served as a well-known analyst and management consultant for 14 years where has worked on over 100 sourcing-related client engagements for AMR Research, Deloitte Consulting, Everest Group and IDC.

Biography

Phil Fersht is an acknowledged industry practitioner, advisor and strategist across Business Process Outsourcing and IT services worldwide, having worked extensively in Europe, North America and Asia. During this time, Phil has served as an advisor on over 100 major outsourcing and offshoring engagements. He also is also author of this renowned blog "Horses For Sources" which serves the global services and outsourcing industry.

Phil is a senior executive for strategy and communications for leading IT and BPO services provider Cognizant Technology Solutions. He is currently focused on driving executive communications to impact a consistent and powerful level of communication with all Cognizant internal and external stakeholders. He also acts as a solutions leader/advisor on key client engagements and sales pursuits across Cognizant's global IT services, consulting and BPO operations.

Prior to Cognizant, Phil was a respected analyst, advisor and industry speaker at AMR Research, leading the firm’s BPO and ITO practice. Previously, he served as a senior executive for Deloitte Consulting’s Outsourcing Advisory Services, where he led numerous outsourcing and offshoring advisory engagements with FORTUNE 500 enterprises and was the firms marketplace leader for BPO advisory services.

Eearlier roles included Vice President for Everest Group, an outsourcing strategy firm, leading three research and consulting teams based in the US and India. He spent the first 6 years of his career at IT analyst IDC across its European and Asia/Pacific operations.

Phil is a frequent author and speaker on IT, Finance, HR and Procurement Business Process Outsourcing trends and issues. He was named both an "FAO" and "HRO Superstar" by FAOToday and HROToday Magazines for 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 and was featured as the cover story for the December 2006 issue of FAOToday as one of the outsourcing industry's most prominent advisors. He was also nominated for “Advisor of the Year” at the FAOSummit 2008. He speaks regularly at industry conferences, which have included The Conference Board, NASSCOM, the Sourcing Interests Group and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. He is also a regular columnist for several industry publications, including Global Services Media, SSON, FAOToday and Finance Director Europe.

Phil received a Bachelor of Science, with Honors in European Business & Technology from Coventry University, United Kingdom and a Diplôme Universitaire de Technologie in Business & Technology from the University of Grenoble, France.
