So it's coming again this week... the 7th annual HRO schmooze-fest in New York's plush mid-town Hilton. Yes, I've been to every bloody one and I swear this will be the last :)
This time I am assured there will be:
-
No rubber chicken
-
No dodgy awards
-
Lots of buyers
In fact, with the industry enjoying something of a revival, this should prove to be an interesting experience, with focus on the core elements of HR operations: payroll, benefits, recruiting, talent management and HR
Other things I am looking forward to (with baited breath) are:
-
Naomi's Bloom's Brazen Hussies, sponsored by CaliberPoint (will they replace the vol-au-vents with Samosas?)
-
Convergys' annual cocktail party (only time I can ever get anyone from Convergys to buy me a drink)
-
The Industry Leaders Panel, featuring Christian Baader and Mary Sue Rogers being interrogated by Elliot Clark
-
Lunch with Keith Strodtman, HROs' smoothest man
-
Dinner with the Human Capitalist (I thought he had been permanently digitized by Twitter, so will be novel to meet some flesh and blood)
If you're in the Apple, come meet me propping up the Hilton bar each night with some unsavory characters...
Phil,
We look forward to seeing you at our reception!
Take Care,
Vicki

Phil,
We're looking forward to the pleasure of your company at HRO World, as well as at Naomi's (in)famous Brazen Hussies event. I trust you will be well behaved :)
Best,
Jeanne
